Leslie Mouton

Leslie is married to an Air Force Pilot, Major Tony "Maddog" Mattox an they have a lovely little girl, Nicole Danielle Mattox, born May 30, 1998.

Leslie attended USL, earning her degree in Communications and Broadcasting.

Leslie and her family live in Schertz, Texas where she is the Noon and 6pm anchor at the ABC Station (KSAT).

Leslie was diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump in her breast.  She decided to document all of it on tape.  She did stories for the news on every part of her battle, surgery, chemo, hair loss, and radiation.  She even anchored one newscast bald to bring awareness and offer hope and support to all cancer patients.  Never did she imagine what would happen next!  She was on Good Morning America, the weekend today show, Inside Edition, the Oprah Winfrey Show and numerous national newspapers featured stories on yer battle!  She has also been awarded one of the 7 most outstanding young Texans and she's soon flying to DC to receive the congressional Families Action for Cancer Awareness Award.  She has compiled her story into a video tape that she distributes to cancer organizations, non profit groups and local libraries so women who are diagnosed can see what they will go through!  

I will add, she send me a copy of the tape and it is wonderfully done and extremely touching.  She did a SUPER GREAT job!!!!!

I, being Lisa, would like to add that Leslie actually was a BIG help in something I am undertaking.  I have created a special line of Bath and Body Products and 50% of each sale from that line is being donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation here in Lafayette.  I could not for the life of me, think of a good name to call this line.  I was sitting on my patio one afternoon, thinking about the line, thinking about what to call it and I thought to myself, "I should call Leslie.  Maybe she can inspire me."  Well, without having to call Leslie, she DID inspire me...My line is called "Inspire".  Thanks Leslie! :)

Leslie says she's doing great and is looking forward to our next reunion!

Leslie has some incredible accomplishments and awards.  They are Emmy Nomination: "What Every Mother Should Know", Congressional Families Action for Cancer Awareness Media Award, Heart and Soul Award, American Cancer Society Media Award, Women in Communication Media Award, Headliners Award and Associated Press Awards.

Leslie enjoys working out, water skiing, reading, cooking, movies, dancing and drinking red wine.

When thinking back on high school memories, some that come to mind for Leslie are Senior Skip Day - all getting busted by Jimbo Dansdill's Mom!  Senior Trip to Florida - playing video games with Catherine and driving around in her foxy car "Katie"!
